AFCI receptacles protect against electrical fires by detecting arc faults and de-energizing the circuit. AFCI receptacles also save money for electrical contractors by reducing costly callbacks. Like GFCI receptacles, AFCI receptacles are installed in the living space so homeowners can see the indicator light and TEST and RESET are controlled locally.
