- When activated, the shunt trip module sends a signal to the trip unit to open the breaker
- This allows the trip unit to record, display, distinguish and communicate (in MicroVersaTrip® PM trip units) that the opening event was initiated by the shunt trip device
- The shunt trip is continuously rated and requires no cut-off switch
- When energized, the shunt trip supplies +24 VDC power to the trip unit to power the display
